Mesa Dentures
Do you have a large number of missing teeth? We know the frustration that can cause. Eating, talking, smiling, and other simple actions can become incredibly difficult. Your whole life can seem much harder to manage.
If most of your natural teeth are gone, complete dentures can make daily life so much easier! They can replace all the teeth in the top or bottom of your mouth—or both. You’ll have a beautiful smile again and the ability to chew and talk normally.
Do you have plenty of natural teeth left? Then partial dentures could be the answer for you. Call East Valley Dental Care to find out how we can help.
What Type Of Denture Is Right For Me?
To help you decide which are the best dentures for you, let’s take a look at the nine types of dentures and we will try to help you decide what is best for you.
Traditional complete full dentures
These are the dentures that replace all the teeth and it is used when there are no teeth left on the gums. They sit on the top of the gums, where they will stay for the appropriate time. The procedure for traditional dentures is not too easy as they are placed 8-12 weeks after the last extraction.
Partial Dentures
This one happens when the patient still has some of their natural teeth. This is seen when there are missing teeth in the front of the upper and lower jaw. To ensure the position of the tooth the two teeth adjacent to the gap are used to anchor the partial denture.
Custom Dentures
This type of denture is more expensive due to the quality of the teeth which results in a more natural smile. It is fully customized to your smile and to meet your particular needs.
Immediate dentures
You have to be a good candidate for this type of denture since it is applied the very same day that teeth are removed/extracted.
Implant-supported Dentures
A dental implant securely supports the denture in this case. This means that the denture has a really strong hold that allows it to stay in place.
Snap-in Dentures
These are the most stable type of dentures. They are held in place by dental implants or they are anchored onto the existing teeth. Locator attachments on the dentures snap into these implants or locator receptors. This makes them super convenient and removable. We recommend these types of dentures to patients with strong bone support for an implant.
Overdentures
The overdenture is placed on top of the gums and held in place with implants. This one is also removable.
Upper Dentures
As the name says it, upper dentures are dentures for the upper teeth. These might be the best solution for you if you are missing teeth in the upper jaw.
Economy Dentures
These dentures are generic and many times the most cost-effective. The fact that they are generic means that they look fake and do not fit securely in your mouth. Hence, the dentist has to apply denture adhesive for a more secure fit.
With any type of removable denture, you’ll be able to keep them clean with a simple routine:
- Take your dentures out to sleep.
- Clean your dentures.
- Clean your gums and tongue every day.
- Keep your dentures moist and cool.
- Keep your dentures safe from falling onto the floor.
- Schedule two dental visits per year.
Consistent care can help your dentures last a long time.
